Army career: Darren enlisted in Southend-on-Sea in 1999, and joined the 1st Battalion The Royal Anglian Regiment. After joining his Battalion, Darren trained as an Assault Pioneer. He successfully completed the Non-Commissioned Officers Cadre and was promoted to Lance Corporal, and commanded his Section.

Date of death: 09/04/2002 

Circumstances: Darren was killed while on duty with the Regiment in Kabul, Afghanistan.
